Health Problems: At the time of surrender he had a large tumor on his right front leg at the fetlock. When this tumor was removed, it weighed 1 pound. The tumor site has an open wound remaining that is being treated. It is slowly closing up and healing. The healing of the wound has allowed for more turn out time. During this turn out time, it appears as though he is overreaching from his hind feet up to his front feet. This may have been what caused the original injury. He is currently being evaluated to determine whether or not bell boots would help. Tawodi came to us severely underweight. He is currently still underweight, but making wonderful progress on getting healthy.

Note on riding the horse.: Tawodi has not entered training yet. The tumor and wound site prevented asking him to move a great deal. As soon as he has clearance from the veterinarian, we will begin ground training. He may need to wear some sort of protective boots due to his overreaching at the trot and canter.
Very sweet. Calm.

Seems to be happy with assuming a non-leader status. He has interacted well with the rest of the herd during his stay. He has been turned out with youngsters as well as older horses with health issues. He gets along well with all.

Tawodi has had to stand for numerous wound cleansings and dressings. He has always stood very calmly. He enjoys being groomed.
